Filing Your Homestead Tax Exemption
A homestead exemption is a reduction in your property taxes. You must have owned and occupied your home on January 1 of the year for which you are applying. Once granted, it is automatically renewed annually as long as you own the property.

Fulton County

Application deadline – April 1
Amount of exemption – $30,000
Certain groups may qualify for additional exemptions.

Amount of exemption – $10,000
Homeowners 62 and older on or before January 1 are entitled to an exemption from school taxes.
